A well-known TV presenter and a former Miss America winner, Leanza Cornett, passed away at forty-nine due to a head injury. She won the beauty pageant of Miss America in 1993. The Miss America Organization on Wednesday confirmed her death as “We are devastated by this sudden loss in our Miss America family and we are deeply sorry for her family and close friends for their loss, At the moment, we do not have any further information regarding a service for Leanza and we ask that you please respect her family during this difficult time.”
After crowning as Miss America, Cornett got a chance to play in television series, including Saved by the Bell: The New Class, Grown Ups, The Tick, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Weeds. By adding to history, she was the first beauty queen who played a role in adopting AIDS awareness and prevention as her platform for her service year.
She married Mark Steines in 1995 and had two children, namely Kai Harper and Avery James. But in 2013, they were divorced 2013 after seventeen years of marriage. “It is with a heavy heart that I share with you the passing of my ex-wife, Leanza the mother to our two extraordinary sons Kai and Avery. We will always remember the wonderful times shared during her short time here on earth. I find comfort knowing Kai and Avery will forever have the best guardian angel watching over them as they navigate life’s path.” Steines wrote on Instagram.
